the jellyfish came in through a small rip in the screen door last night, i forgot to pull the glass door shut because the Ricard went down the right way; the medusozoa crawled under the couch and, when i wasn’t looking, reading the subtitles of an Iranian film, it bit my toe, no, jellies don’t bite but this one has a mouth like you wouldn’t believe, it slid away and i caught its profile, reminded me of a millionaire uncle who lives in Hong Kong, pestered me to grow up and invest myself a house, anxiety like leeches under my skin, fattening up before they burst, so i put on spotify: there’s a playlist i find soothing to write to when day doesn’t follow script, sometimes i come here and write, because i know you won’t judge, you fuckers don’t even know me, so it’s cool, i write a short story, post a poem, and sometimes just one more paragraph about the jellies, and the slugs settle and let me be

  1. Today I had crippling anxiety where I just wanted to curl up into a little ball in the middle of the store and cry. I had to take deep breaths and talk to myself as though I was 6 years old again. Jellyfish are brutal.

  5. Those are some vicious jellies. They should keep their very unfluffy lions manes to themselves and leave you in peace. I’d get a bunsen burner on those fuckers if they try it again.
