If I had to read one author for the rest of my life it would be Charles Bukowski.
BEER by Charles Bukowski from NERDO
Great ! You – and Hank ! – In my post I added the relevant poem, too…

Haha cool. Thank you.
You two have quite a history after all…
Haha yes we do, don’t we? 🙂
Wow. I love the animated clip too. Fucking WOW.
Did you finish the book? I never can read the poetry collections from start to finish. I flip through it randomly. Did you like Bukowski’s mermaid poem? Made me think of Ernest.
I flipped through it too. Random poems here and there. I’m not good at reading poetry books from cover to cover. I’ve read enough now that I “get it”. I get why people rave about this guy! Oh, and I hadn’t actually read that one yet but now that I have, I feel it’s got Ernest plastered all over it!
He’s poetic, visceral, and honest. Doesn’t shy away from the raw truth. He’s also a complicated being, capable of meanness and incredible gentleness.

Pretty much like all of us really. Devils and angels wrapped up in meat packages.
Not me? 😦
I thought you or Flanders might come up with that. 🙂
I won … guess the time zone worked in my favour this time.
Too much pressure for me given your poetry addiction.
Your prose is poetry, mate.
Thank you for saying so!
I think few would argue with that.
Absolutely love that poem. Posted it on my blog a while back. Nerdo did a great interpretation, right?
I couldn’t agree more.
Reblogged this on Still Another Writer's Blog.
Gotta love Buk…
Haha love it.
